Papaya IPA Face Masque

Well hello there soft and supple skin!

I came across an article about how papaya is the best thing to make a facial masque. Then I came across a cute recipe for a facial masque with beer. I researched a lot of natural ingredients and came up with this little gem.

Here's why it works: Papaya is all around a wonder for the skin. It's high content of Vitamin A makes it a great anti oxidant. Papaya also has exfoliating properties because it contains papain, which breaks down inactive proteins, removing dead skin cells. If that all was not enough, papaya is also said to have good anti-aging properties due to the high content of alpha-hydroxy acids. And finally, papaya can help with blemishes, uneven skin tone and will bring a radiant glow to the skin.

For the rest of the ingredients: The brewers yeast in beer can help maintain a balanced pH level in the skin and the hops act as an astringent unclogging pores. Egg white has cleansing, pore-tightening, and acne-fighting properties. Lemon increases radiance, revitalizing dull skin . Honey works to smooth out and soften the skin and can also help clear your skin of blemishes. Coconut oil is a natural moisturizer. Oats are great for exfoliation and help thicken up this concoction. So once you gather these ingredients and a blender you are ready to go!

Ingredients

1/2 a papaya, skinned and seeded

1 Tbs honey

4 Tbs oats, ground

whites from 2 eggs

3 oz of a hoppy IPA

1/2 tsp coconut oil

juice from half a lemon

Directions

In a blender, add all ingredients and blend until consistency is like a paste (see above picture). Apply to face and wait for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with a washcloth and warm water.
